This article will let you know the steps you need to take if you have a claim on your video after all previous claims were cleared and the video is now public.
Remember to always upload your video as 'unlisted' initially until we confirm all claims have been cleared. See here on steps to take with claims on 'unlisted' videos.
Why did I receive a claim after I published my video?
While it is rare, claims can be asserted on your video once we had previously confirmed all claims had been released and you published your video. This can happen because:
1. Content ID has incorrectly assigned a claim to your video. See here for more information on why/how this happens.
2. A publishing claim has been applied to your video. A publishing claim is on the composition of the track as opposed to the sound recording.
Actions to take if you have a claim on your video when it is public:
If your video receives a claim once published follow these steps:
1. Head to YouTube Studio and click the 'See details' button on the 'Copyright' label to find out who the claimant is
2. Please take a screenshot of the claim as shown in the above images
3. Click 'Take Action' and dispute the claim on YouTube. See here for more information on how to dispute a claim. This will ensure all ad-revenue on your video is protected.
4. Head to 'Videos & Claims' on your Lickd account and submit a support request for the claim on your video.
5. Please send through the screenshots of the claim via the support request ticket submitted.
Our team will endeavour to clear the claim right away. The claim may take longer than 48 hours to be released if it is a third party content ID claim where the claimant is not the same YouTube administrator of the track you licensed.
